It’s been a while… Overworked? or Procrastinating?

Jul.15, 2009 in Task Management, Useful Tips Leave a Comment

Finally got around to that thing that you had been meaning to get around to for ages. In my case, it’s a new blog entry… in your case, I don’t know, maybe it’s been a long time since you’ve cleaned in between your toes (I think I’m player_timein that category too… never got the importance).

Although maybe it’s actually just me with this problem. Procrastination (is that even how you spell it? I can’t be bothered looking it up… I’ll do it later).

Development Cost Criteria

Mar.06, 2009 in Communication, Project Flow 1 Comment

To be honest… I can’t take credit for this idea in anyway shape or form. I actually got the framework from the previous Development Manager from SAFI.

There is a decision to be made at the beginning of a Project, that will influence where the cost of the project is going to lie. It comes when establishing the priorities of the client. There could be alot of these, but you can narrow down the options to three, to be able to adequately guage the time/cost estimates of the project.

Normally, the idea is to keep things running as smooth as possible. If everything is going well on the surface, of course it must be going well underneath.

Can I say… Probably NOT!

For me, it seems that part of the job of a Project Manager, or anyone involved in the development side of any kind of software, is to pick out the problems in it, or to… Throw a Spanner in the Works.

Let me explain why I think that… [Read the rest of this entry...]

Talk! Talk! Talk!

Feb.19, 2009 in Communication, Useful Tips Leave a Comment

I’m currently coordinating several projects for SAFI Technologies, and have been doing so for a while now. This is my first blog entry, and so I’m going to put in the most important thing I’ve learnt so far.

TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK.

If you didn’t catch my meaning… I meant… TALK

It seems that every problem I’ve ever come across has been because something wasn’t talked over. Everything that has ever gone well for me, has been talked through thoroughly. So if you don’t read any more of my blog, or only leave with one thing… go away with this… [Read the rest of this entry...]
